VPOP3

VPOP3 is an Internet e-mail server and gateway for small and medium sized business (and some larger ones too!).

Key features

  • Works with most Internet accounts, including free and personal ones

  • Works with all popular e-mail client programmes, including Outlook Express, Outlook 2000, Eudora and Netscape, etc.

  • Automates mailing tasks with is connection scheduler, mailing lists, auto responders, etc.

  • Internal mail doesn't have to go via your ISP

  • Provides access to mail through a web browser if required

  • Can be remotely administered using a web browser

  • Can be used with more than one Internet account

What it does

Whether you are a business or individual user, VPOP3 has something special to offer you. VPOP3 is a very powerful piece of software (don't be misled by its modest size!). Some of the most useful things it can do for you are:

  • Download messages according to rules set by you

  • Prevent the downloading of spam e-mail

  • Download mail unattended

  • Limit connections to certain hours and certain days only

  • Simplify your routines by processing selected messages

  • Sense other software connecting to the Internet, and automatically share that connection without any user intervention, so that VPOP3 can collect and send mail while you surf the net!

How VPOP3 works
VPOP3 hosts its own POP3 mailboxes for users on your local network and will fetch mail from ISP accounts to put into these boxes. Thus, if all the mail for
yourdomain.co.uk goes to one ISP POP3 mailbox, for instance, VPOP3 will retrieve it all and distribute it among the appropriate users's mailboxes. Outgoing mail is stored by VPOP3 and then sent when it next connects.
The mail retrieval operation can be scheduled to occur at specific times and it can be optionally triggered by the action of sending a message with the priority set to urgent.

System Requirements

  • Windows 98, 98, NT, 2000 PC for VPOP3
(doesn't need to be dedicated to VPOP3)

  • Modem, terminal adaptor or router connection to ISP

  • Internet account

  • TCP/IP networking

  • Workstation computers need to have a suitable Internet e-mail client.
