writing reports in Excel has never been easier
We have taken PaXcel for Pastel and exploded it. PaXcel 2007 comes with approx. 400% more functionality which equates to 38 formulas.
In its new form you can still use PaXcel to retrieve GL Balances and Budgets. But in addition you can now retrieve Customer outstanding & sales balances, Supplier outstanding & sales balances and Sales Analysis balances including Gross Profit and sales figures. In addition you can retrieve inventory balances including opening balances, sales, purchases, adjustments and unposted figures, as
well as inventory sales.
Use your Microsoft Excel skills and the new formulas to create spreadsheets the way you want them. Don't let your creativty be suppressed. Use Excel graphing, grouping and all the other Excel standard functionalities to produce the Profit/Loss, Customer Sales, Customer Aging, Supplier Purchases, Supplier Aging and Inventory reports.
With the new PaXcel toolbar we have extended the functionality even further. You can retreive the starting accounts by loading either Customer, Supplier, GL, Inventory, Store, Currency Codes, Financial Categories, Report Categories, Customer Categories and Sales Analysis codes direct into your active spreadsheet. Then use these accounts as the starting point for your spreadsheet.
Select one of your PaXcel 2005 formulas and use the 'Account View' button to display the master information for the selected accounts. The screens displayed for the master records will be similar in format to the main Pastel screens.
The 'Missing Accounts' button
can be used to locate accounts that you may not have included within your PaXcel spreadsheet.
PaXcel 2005 comes with full on-line help which is available from the PaXcel 2005 toolbar. The toolbar also has the 'Recalculate' button that will force a calculation of the complete spreadsheet, ensuring that your figures are up to date.
Oh! and nearly forgot.... select a PaXcel 2005 formula and use the 'View Transactions' button
to list all transactions that make up the selected balance. All this from within Excel!
So now you have extra functions to retrieve balances from other master accounts, ability to view accounts making up the selected balance and transaction drill down to view the transactions that make up the selected balance.
See, PaXcel 2005 more than a GL link.

Meet
Sally Sink
Each
month Sally Sink exports her balances out of Pastel,
then re-formats the spreadsheet as required adding extra
formulas and functions. Sally Sink spends hours each
month doing this process over and over again. And if
a transaction has been captured in Pastel... well guess
what? She starts all over again!

Meet
Sally Swim
Sally
Swim creates her financial reports using PaXcel. Once
the report has been designed she opens the Excel spreadsheet
each month and updates the period descriptors. Then
she relaxes with her coffee and watches the spreadsheet
recalculate itself. If any transactions have not been
captured in Pastel she simply inputs them and lets the
spreadsheet recalculate again. Ahhhhh!
PaXcel 2005 has
made it even easier for Sally Swim. Now she can also
drill-down in any cell containing a PaXcel formula,
into the transactions that make up the balance.
